Kathleen Hower, Co-founder and Executive Director of Global Links

A native Pittsburgher, Kathleen Hower is the co-founder of Global Links, a pioneering medical recovery organization dedicated to promoting better environmental stewardship and improving health in less developed countries. In 2005, Global Links was recognized by the Director of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization as a leader in responsible medical recovery. In 2009, the organization marked its 20th anniversary. Hower’s vision has led Global Links’ growth from a small grassroots operation to become the recognized leader in medical material recovery, with partnerships in nine countries and recovery efforts topping 200 tons annually. Since 1989, Global Links has provided over $160 million of aid to countries around the world.  Hower has traveled widely in Latin America and the Caribbean, reviewing and developing programs for Global Links.
